Good Morning

Hello all. Well, we are rounding on the end of day two here at the hospital. Its funny, we were sitting here trying to figure our how long we have been here and it took several attempts at counting to come to our conclusion. This inability to think straight is, of course, caused by our amazing lack of sleep. Everyone warned me to sleep while I could. I wish I had slept more before!

But for the most part, we are all doing really well. Its amazing how your body can function on such a deprivation.

I got to hold my little one for a few minutes after he ate and we changed him. Couldn't resist the opportunity.

So to continue, baby and mommy are doing well. So is daddy. We are slowly learning little tricks to help him feel more at ease and to help him eat better. One thing that is interesting though - every shift change you get a whole new set of recommendations for how to take care of him. Often they contradict each other. All of our nurses (except for one) have been amazing - very helpful and encouraging!

We may be taking Lethan home today. Mommy and baby's doctor will be visiting and will let us know a little later. We are looking forward to getting back home. Its impossible to sleep or rest here with all of the continued distractions. Our room is right across from the nurse's station, so all day and night you can hear them talking and paging people. Home will be nice and quite. Of course, then we have the opportunity to introduce the little one to his two little puppies who are eager to meet him!
